Learning 2 Reflection

While it is a few weeks later than I originally planned, I am finally getting around to writing about my experience at Learning 2.014. It was located at NIST in Bangkok, Thailand.

The overall theme that I took away from this conference was taking risks and that learning is a continuum. These are my thoughts from the sessions/conferences/meetups that I attended.

  • Jeff’s passion when he speaks is certainly contagious.
  • Kim’s insight and vision leads to discussion. I came away with a great deal of questions too.
  • Clint’s 2:1 session had some great discussions and ideas.
  • Nicki’s visual notetaking has inspired me, someone who never thought I could be “artistic”, to try taking notes by using visuals.
  • Liz encouraged the cohort to grow as a PLN. I have even reached out to few of them since for some advice. It was so nice to have someone teaching the same subject as me to discussion what’s going on in my class.
  • The Coetail meet-up helped me to meet those in my cohort, get to know my coach, and brainstorm some ways to hopefully start something at my own school.
  • The mini talks before and after the sessions contained more information and knowledge and ideas than I sometimes can’t process it all.

It was about thinking, growing, moving forward, and there was even some useful things about technology. Grateful that I was able to be a part of this wonderful learning experience.

  1. It was so very nice to meet you at 2.0 and I am glad that we have a PLN to reach out to as well! Thx for sharing and look forward to staying connected. Did you see how much our Write Right magazine has grown and been flipped? πŸ˜‰

  2. Thanks for the reflection and glad you found the time there worth it. It’s a conference that I think really understands that learning is about communities. Whether it’s the community that is the conference, the community that is your subject area, or the community that is COETAIL. We try to really help people find their community and learn within it. That was our goal anyway and has always been and will continue to be moving forward!
